Non-Standard Dual Unit
|
Dual Expansion Joints are often used where axial movement is grater than can be absorbed by a single Expansion Joint. The dual assembly consists of two single Expansion Joints connected by an interconnecting pipe nipple. In many cases, this interconnecting nipple has an integral anchor base. The base is designed to withstand the forces required to move either expansion joins. when no anchor base is provided, the interconnecting nipple must be anchored with standard pipe anchors.
Dual Expansion Joints are employed where large amounts of movement in any combination are required. i.e. axial, lateral deflection and angular rotation which can not be absorbed by a single expansion joint. In these types of application, the interconnecting nipple is not anchored by the remaining system must be properly anchored and guided. |
